I just received a wheel and shifter from Act Labs to do my review. For those
of you who have read other reviews on it and heard complaints about the
paddle shifters being weak, looking like spoons and being one lever that can
be pushed and pulled, I thought I'd let you know...... They've changed it!!
How about that, a company that listens. Of course, it still looks like
something out of Captain Midnight or Jet Jackson (1950s Saturday morning TV
serials).
Time to hook it up!

Hey Slot, just received my Force RS䨘龵 today too.I've been using the LWFF
for about a year now,but I Wanted to try the RS for a few reasons(More
rotation, stronger force, true shifter).Iv'e had about 1 hour to try things out
with GPL,Viper,RC2K,N3 and TOCA 2,feels great so far.Anybody that has questions
about the RS versus the LWFF,ask away and I'LL reply later when I get a few more
hours in.

How do you think the RS and LWFF compare in GPL?

for the better part of a year, except for setting
the max torque to 180.
I now have damping and torque both
set to 140, and it's a bit better.

Hi Stefan,I've got about 6 hours in on GPL with the Force RS.Right now I would say the
LWFF has the superior dynamics.I'm still in the break in phase of the RS,and still
tweaking core.ini, but I still miss the subtle feel of the LWFF.All of the small bumps
are not being felt,as well as the small tug of the wheel in the corners.I just feel
more information from the car through the LWFF.I'll continue tweaking and see how
things progress.

P.S.
The shifter is excellent;)Where's the patch Randy?

Try these FF setting in your GPL core.ini and see what you think. I
tried the Logitech and sent it back. I wouldn't trade my Act Labs Force
RS for anything on the market today. Let me know...
force_feedback_damping = 40.00 ; force feedback damping coefficient
force_feedback_latency = 0.095 ; force feedback latency (secs)
max_steering_torque = 230.00 ; steering torque giving max device force

wood strip across the front. As far as I know they are opened as far
as they will go. Has anyone else run into this problem? I'm not sure
what the heck I'm supposed to do. Man, I hate these clamps.

I had to take out a front panel that hung down about an inch. Took me
quite awhile as I had to go in behind the side drawers and drill out
the pieces holding the panel in. This isn't a cheap desk either. :)

a hardware store, or maybe cut off the return part of the clamp. Without
seeing your desk, these are only guesses.
