NFSHS graphics and handling?

After reading several reviews about NFS High Stakes being one of the best driving sims (arcade) of the year, I picked it up. First question, Is this compatible with my Viper V770 or is it strictly 3dfx? I don't have access to several of the graphics options (fog, etc) and I can't tell if it using my 3D card or if it's running in software mode. Thus far I'm not impressed with the graphics. Second question, Is there a trrick to getting the car to handle correctly? I'm using a MSFF wheel and it handles very badly ( or I'm driving very badly).

In the steering preferences, make the deadzone as small as possible. Also, download this: ftp://ftp.mindspring.com/users/rrev/ctfj.gif -- // rrev at mindspring dot com //
