I have just acquired a copy of windows 2000, and was wondering if it is
worth it to set it up and be 'one of the first'... An important point is GPL
comatibility. I know someone was posting earlier about the win2000beta...
I have
amd k6-2 333 / aopen ax59pro mb
(soon to be celery 433 / abit)
64 mb ram
banshee
sb pci-64
should I do it?
ps. I'm starting school again and will be very busy, and will need my
computer, so I don't want to do too much***ing around, although a little
***ing around would be ok.

Depends if you have a Logitech Force Feedback wheel or not. Currently
the FF doesn't work. The wheel works great but it's a little difficult
to drive without even the resistance a non FF wheel has.
Also the 233 may be a little slow under 2000.

minimum ram at 64mb! And after tuition and books this semester it looks
like it won't be a celery after all :( However by next semester I'll be
able to get something faster for the same money, so I guess all is well...
And my wheel is a nascar pro..
The installation went so smoothly I was wondering if it was actually a
windows product!?! It found and installed ALL my drivers without even
asking me a thing. Just booted up all ready to go, ethernet card internet
working and everyhting! I just had to install ipx to get it to join my
other computers workgroup. Although the 650 mb footprint is a bit much!
BTW I didn't get any installation options (no background, accessibility that
sort of thing) did I miss something?
So besides the wheel, no probs with gpl?
thanx,
