Having just returned from a very relaxing Millenium
holiday/celebration in the wilds of Scotland, I was pleasantly
surprised to find that the world...is still here!!
Anyone seen the infamous "Rick" around (the "p" is silent)? Or is he
still cowering in his bunker with 10 thousand tins of beans? I always
said I'd like a laugh upon my return after the Millenium.
Cheers!
John
Hehe, nor hide nor tail of him has been seen.

for a comeback. He even has a small "welcome wagon" of folks who can't
wait to absolve and reassimilate him into the sim world. Have a peek
through the bars at 206.27.21.29 ( Jacob Butners Nascar/DTR newsgroup)

John, the Millenium isn't over you know, this year is the 2000:th, so it's
almost a year to go...
/Chrille, apologizing for my bad english, I'm from Sweden...

Heck "The Millenium" (as in the end of the 1000-year period) means
nothing, folks are just e***d about having a "2" instead of a "1".
As far as I'm concerned "2000" _is_ the millenium, even if,
numerically speaking, it's not (if you know what I mean). The main
reason being that no-one will give a ***about 2001.
Personally speaking I had some champagne, some nice whisky and open
some real lovely wine, and just so's not to offend anyone I fully
intend doing the same again next year :-)
Now, where's Rick.... ;-)
Cheers!

Nah, 2001 will probably still be a 'magic' year because of the movie...<g>

Never argue with an idiot. He brings you down to his level, then beats you
with experience...

Maybe some Stanley Kubrick fans will get all e***d and start looking for
big, black monoliths.

the hysteria around it. It's only a way of counting, and it only says 2000
if you use the 10th base...
I do see the advantages for human kind to start a new year, new decade, new
century, new millenium. It's as if we think we get a new chance to do it
right... The memorial TV-programs of the past year, decade, etc, also
reminds us of all the good things that happened, which I guess increase our
optimistic view of the future - Perhaps we're not that bad after all :o).
This doesn't explain why the stock market is falling though, so maybe I'm
wrong... again...
