I just sent a message to Sierra to let them know the only reason I bought
NASCAR 3 was to have the tracks to convert for GPL. If anyone else did this,
we should let Sierra know people are willing to spend $ on GPL still.
It might not make any difference, but it can't hurt.

Done. My letter was as follows:
To Whom it May Concern:
I just wanted to let you know that I've purchased a copy of Nascar 3. I didn't
buy it only as a standalone product. I didn't think it was a big enough change
from Nascar 1999(which I already have). I bought Nascar 3 to use the track
converter that's available. I will convert several tracks into GPL. I think
that there's still a market out there for GPL that you may be missing. Thanks.
We can only hope they listen...

Why should I do that? I like N3 just the way it is. As a matter of fact,
I almost don't play with GPL anymore. I bet you will also write to them
telling that you bought NL just for the Riverside track... Sheesh, I'm
not sure what you're expecting by doing this. It's like telling their N3
sim is just good for the tracks included. Nice way to encourage them.

Which tracks can you convert from N3 to GPL? Are you able to covert the
sears point track? Is the Sears point track any good in N3?
Yeh sears point is more realistic than n99 track but i really like what they
did
to watkins glen, It got more height now than the older n99 track..

And in which part of Kevin's post did he even suggest that there was anything
wrong with N3? The entire point of his suggestion (and unless I'm mistaken it was
not an order but merely a suggestion) was that Sierra should know that additional
support for GPL could result in increased profits.
I fail to see how that statement could, in any way, harm N3 or indicate to Sierra
that they should not be "encouraged" by the reception of N3.

was for the tracks" pretty much explains everything. (Not to long ago, a
guy wrote something about buying the NL game just for the Riverside
track, which is a shame because the rest of the game is pretty good.)
Since they are almost the same tracks as in N1999, I would question the
need to mention that or even to buy the game at all. I like GPL as much
as the next guy, but I still don't see how sending an e-mail saying that
to Papyrus will encourage them to make sims for that particular client.

I think you are missing the point, which is that we GPLers are willing
to spend money for upgrades,so give us some.

Good idea--not because there will be lots of numbers, but because a thought
that otherwise wouldn't even enter their heads would be put there.

....or let Sierra know you refuse to support corporate mediocrity by spending
anything on their products after they abandoned the best racing sim ever
created, and that you will find the other tracks for GPL 'elsewhere'.
I prefer to support the new guys by spending my money on RatBag's Dirt Track
Racing and Motorsim's GP500 for when I need a break from GPL.
