The best Nascar game

10 posts by 10 people · 29 Dec 1999 - 30 Dec 1999

I finally made my choice for the best nacar game. I tried : 1) Nascar 3 2) Nascar revolution 3) Nascar 2000 on the playstation Nascar 3 The + : 1) Wonderful graphics. The best of the three game. With this game you have the feel to be realy on the tracks. 2) Plenty of tracks. 3) The most complete game of the three ( paint job and other options ) 4) Every gauge in the car is real. 5) The best replay The - : 1) Very difficult to master in simulation mode. Spin and spin and spin again... even with the best setting with the wonswap. 2) No pit animation... A nascar game without pit animation... it's a shame! 3) All the cars have the same look... 4) Only three view available... 5) The view in the mirror is unrealistic. The car behind you seems to fly, and you don't see the road or other details... 6) You don't see your position and the lap in the same time if you are in the car. Nascar Revolution The + : 1) Good graphics 2 ) Plenty of views 3) A real view mirror 4) Easy to master 5) Lot of view 6) Ford looks likes Ford and Chevy looks like Chevy. 7) The best pit animation I've ever seen. The - : 1) Not many tracks 2) The sound of the car is not realistic. 3) The voice of the commentator is very boring, useless, and not realistic. You can have a crash and the stupid commentator can say : ''It is a good day to drive''... 4) The replay. Nascar 2000 for the playstation: The + : 1) Very easy to master 2) The best sound of the three game 3) A real view mirror 4) Seven different view! 5) Ford looks like Ford and Chevy looks like Chevy. 6) Good pit animation 7) Good damage view 8) Estimation of fuel remain: quantity and lap remaining. 9) 24 tracks. The - : 1) The graphics are a bit grainy... 2) The replay And the winner is: NASCAR 2000! Guill

Why would you buy a game that is easy to master? Doesn't that defeat the choice. Nascar 2000 and Nascar Revultion are Arcade games. Nascar 3 is a simulation. Nascar 3 is too easy to drive. It's almost impossible for me to spin out a Nascar 3 car if I'm trying. -- Chris Arndt =============================== 1999 FSSPRO BGN Champion 1999 ISR Shootout Runner up "All I can do on a given day is put myself in a position to win, and let circumstances dictate the outcome" -Richard Petty http://CArndt.tripod.com

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Dude, you've got a career in stand -up comedy! don [|]-(_)-[|] >I finally made my choice for the best nacar game. >I tried : 1) Nascar 3 > 2) Nascar revolution > 3) Nascar 2000 on the playstation <SNIP, SNIPPITY, SNIP>
The real cars are not that hard to drive. When driving a real car you get much more stimulus from what you are doing, i.e., you "feel" things. Not so when driving on a computer.

>I finally made my choice for the best nacar game. I saw your later post about N3, so I'm not going to try to CHANGE your mind - just show you why things were done the way they were. I have it. I have it. Never seen it. It's got to be your driving style. You do know there's a brake pedal, right? I ask that because EVERY person I've seen complain about that (in person, at least) drives every track with their foot on the floor. It's been my experience (and has been borne out by others here) that the "Ace" setup is VERY stable right out of the box on most tracks, and hard to spin under NORMAL racing conditions. Unnecessary waste of diskspace. Would be "nice," but hardly "a shame." So does NasRev, IMO. Out of the box I definately agree, but many of the paintjobs available have changed them enough to make them appear different. Only ONE is needed, anyway - in-car. Unnecessary waste of CPU power: the only thing needed in the mirror is an accurate view of CARS behind you - I don't care about the tree I just passed, or the billboards on the walls. Again, it'd be "nice," but hardly important enough to waste CPU cycles on it. the same time if you are in the I agree wholeheartedly with this one!! We should also be able to BOTH "Best Lap so Far" and "Last Lap" speeds. We had that in Nascar 1. Ashamedly, even better than N3. My guess is they used their licensing money up by the time they got to the tracks. I'm sure various locations are less important to EA than more advertisers. Not TERRIBLE out of the box, but pretty boring quickly. boring, useless, and not realistic. DEFINATELY not enough variety in statements and "events" that cause the phrases. Unneeded. Wasted. Unnecessary Not sure what you mean here. If you're worried the extent of your damage, there are two way to see that in N3: 1) in replay mode, switch to different camera angles around your car to see all the sides; 2) the "far back" view can give you a decent idea of your whole car. lap remaining. N3 has this, too. I think it's F3, but it'll tell you how many laps remain on your current fuel load. This is more a limitation of your TV, than the game. There's not enough scan lines to really even get 640x480. N3 and NasRev go up to 1024x768. I think you're basing your decision on invalid (or unimportant) points - which is most CERTAINLY your right. I'm not saying your wrong, I just disagree with your arguments. For "let's-have-fun-since-I-only-have-a-few-minutes-to-run-a-few-laps" I think NasRev wins hands down. For "I-want-to-immerse-myself-in-the-experience" racing, N3 wins hands down. DISCLAIMER: I've never seen N2000 on the Playstation. Gunner
