Hi all, just installed N3 on my pll 233/64meg/Thriller 8meg/Win98 sytem, and I must say I'm a little disappointed so far, runs about as well as GPL did before I bought the thriller, with the added benefit that it quits back to my desktop before I can get into 2nd gear.....Installation went OK, had no programs running in background, but I noticed in the readme that the v2200 drivers for the Thriller could be a problem, I have latest bios and drivers available from the Herc site installed, but I guess my question is, do I need a new vid card to run this game, anyone else had this problem and found a solution, and is the game worth the added expense and effort? Would a 3dfx card and reinstall work? I don't know, that's why I'm asking you......Anybody? Thanks in advance, Ed White -- Ed White Bring Nascar to South Jersey!!
Sadly, the Rendition V2200 is well past it's prime. I just retired mine in favour of a Voodoo3 3000. You'll be amazed at the improvement. You have 3 options: 1. Get a new vid card 2. try the latest reference drivers from rendition.com 3. Try to disable mip mapping when using rendition. > Hi all, just installed N3 on my pll 233/64meg/Thriller 8meg/Win98 sytem, and > I must say I'm a little disappointed so far, runs about as well as GPL did > before I bought the thriller, with the added benefit that it quits back to > my desktop before I can get into 2nd gear.....Installation went OK, had no > programs running in background, but I noticed in the readme that the v2200 > drivers for the Thriller could be a problem, I have latest bios and drivers > available from the Herc site installed, but I guess my question is, do I > need a new vid card to run this game, anyone else had this problem and found > a solution, and is the game worth the added expense and effort? Thanks Ron, disabling mipmapping allowed me to run the game and increase the graphic settings considerably..............Keep Racing, Ed
