I know, we havent raced Atlanta yet. But I wanted to get some times from you
guys. What are ya running? I havent practiced yet but hopefully I will have
time tonight to give that fast setup a whirl. So, what kind of times are
ya'll turning at atlanta with the fast setups?

29.4xx here
spent the last practice session trying to figure out how to get more life
out of the front tires instead of trying for a better time, in case it's a
green race.

Stick a fork in me, I'm done. Could only get into the low 30's.

just hit the 29.3's, but it might not matter much here, 15 laps and my
fronts are yellow.
and I should note that is only my personal best, not running that fast
consistently.

I did a 29.4, but I'm bottoming out in 1 and 3, and sliding the front. Tires
don't last long.

noticed the bottoming out thing myself. Ran a race on Sierra a minute ago at
54 deg, it was even worse.

29.7 consistently for 18 laps, RF went yellow by lap 20.
Is it just me or is the "bottoming out" more pronounced post patch?

Ran a race on Sierra a minute agoThis track eats the tires. After 20, im toast. I have driven a half a dozen
lines still getting the same results. The question now is how many laps will
it take ginger on a green flag run to lap me if I am trying to preserve my
tires?. The answer is 30. And that my friend, is not good.

It's not you, I think it even says that in the readme for the patch.

No... not terribly. I really should get out there and see what wear is like
with the <fast> setup.

I ran 28.4s in a draft during an open setup race earlier this week, so the
faster guys should be high 28's on their own. Using the <fast> setup that'll
problaby junk the tyres in under 20 laps, but that's good. <g>

Taking care of the tires on the first few laps will be critical.
Avoid the rabbits, let 'em run. If traffic lets you keep a smooth line, start
out in the high 29s. 29.8 or higher. But stay as smooth as possible. A 29.8
with you having to steer all over cause of traffic will do just as much harm to
the tires as a flat out 29.2 with no traffic.
If you can stay easy on the tires early you'll make the full fuel run on tires
and you won't drop off pass low to mid 31s.
