Gran Turismo 2 is out, in case you don't know and do care. Featuring Pike's Peak Laguna Seca Mini Coopers Historic Corvettes, Lotuses, and musclecars Super-easy-to-pass license tests (except for the Corkscrew) Even cheaper MA70 Supra's More Enduros Rally Courses 30bhp Diahatsu Utility Vehicles The World's Fastest Minivan by Renault Over half a dozen screenfuls of Rights and Credits Right now, most stores are probably holding on to copies for customers who reserved it, and may not even have enough for all of those... What I want to know is, are the 3d accelerated graphics any good with Bleem. The demo only gives you software mode. Andrew >Gran Turismo 2 is out, in case you don't know and do care.

So the license tests are easy to pass? That's good because I never did finish all the tests in GT. I just don't have the time and reflexes to earn those licenses, and couldn't enjoy all of the game. Alan
> Gran Turismo 2 is out, in case you don't know and do care. > Featuring > Pike's Peak Waow ! Is there the Peugeot 405 Pike Speak in the game ? Hari Vatannen broke the track circuits in 1986 with it . CorScrew crash :o) :o) yeah, drive the Pike Speak with the mini cooper :o) max speed at 90mph :o) Well, if it's so easy, what is the interest ? Yeah, is there a 24h enduro race ? :o)))) Hey ! Its not a MiniVan !!!! :o) It's a SpaceVan, like the Chrisler Voyager :o) ( well maybe you call that a minivan, and in europe we call that a monopsace :o) ). It's the Renault Espace F1, a Renault Espace with the Renault V10 F1 motor, in it. It'was made when Prost was driving for Renault in F1 , can't remember the date :o( -- ============================================================================== Sebastien Tixier - Game Developer http://www.eden-studios.fr http://www.vrally.com http://www.multimania.com/hclyon ==============================================================================

Actually, I don't think it has the Pike's Peak circuit, just the hill climb. But it does have Peugeot Rally Cars of some sort. You win a good Mitsubishi Lancer Rally Car, too. And then there's that huge wing, with a smallish Suzuki attached to it. No pleasing some people. People disagree on how hard the gold standards are. The bronze seem to be hard enough to ensure you've got some idea of what the test is trying to teach. There are also "Kiddie Awards", for coming real close too many times, I think... Not sure how they work, though, I don't have any Kiddie Awards left. But passing the tests is, by all reports, not the weeks-long exercise in frustration it used to be for some of the less co-ordinated of us. Sorry, there's no way a PSX could endure that. Adrian.
>Sorry, there's no way a PSX could endure that. I have left my playstation running for weeks on end and it still works perfectly. Same with every other game console I have ever owned (NES, SNES, GENESIS, GENESIS CD, N64, PSX, TurboGFX16) ~daxe -----------== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News ==---------- http://www.newsfeeds.com The Largest Usenet Servers in the World! ------== Over 73,000 Newsgroups - Including Dedicated Binaries Servers ==-----

It's neither a Minivan or a monopsace. In Europe we call it a monospace :-p It was build in 1993. ---SimTim---

Interesting that you run the games for 24 hours. It's common knowledge in North America that the PSX hardware can begin to overheat anytime after about two hours. The manual warns you that for "your health", you should take a break about that often, and I often cynically wondered if that was there to avoid users overheating the machine. The AI in both Gran Turismos is clearly too weak to work with realistic damage. I mean, you could probably hang around in sixth place and just wait for the AI cars to damage themselves out of contention. That's why damage is an option for 2 player mode only in GT2. Yes, it's a bad simulator in that respect. With console games, I'm sure part of the theory is to make the game "exhaustible" so you have to buy something new. Both GT's actually don't fit that entirely, but that may not be considered a good thing by Sony, and some aspects of the games do fit the "throw away when finished" pattern. Nevertheless, in GT2, people say there is some sort of "Event Synthesizer" opened up when you get your "Super License" (which you don't even know exists until you've got your other five licenses). People say "Super License", even though it's one lap time trials, is not as difficult as the IA license was in GT1. I've not bothered trying it yet. There's enough other stuff to do. Adrian.

Well, 24H LeMans from Infogrammes, have the option, it's not a difficult thing to make it. Every developer put a debug mode in there games where you can play for ever, just to test the stability of the games. To be approuved, a game must works 8hours at a time !And often we let the game on the PSX more than 24hours to be sure. What i dislike in console market, it's we don't let choice to the players, no options ! I would think GT could be one of the best sim IF there was an option for realistic colision, an OPTION. The colision in GT/GT2 are a joke for sim players. Yes, in North America, a Plymouth (Chrysler) Voyager is called a minivan. (The Dodge equivalent is called a "Caravan" ("car-a-van")). A full-size "van" is/was something like a "Ford Econoline". A minivan is mini compared to that. A BMC/Rover Mini with van body would not be called a minivan in North America. It would be called roadkill. 8-) Racing minivans seem particularly humorous in North America because the typical driver of minivan is stereotyped as a stereotypical surburban housewife carpooling a load of children to a Little-League game, or something like that. Adrian.

Various ElXXX from the late 60's to 70's, the Europa is in a license test. And a bunch of modern ones too. All sports cars. I don't think the GT car modelling can do open-wheel cars. Adrian.

Except Saleen does Windstar conversions with outrageous amounts of power. He also beefs up Explorers and Expeditions. I can only shake my head in disbelief. Hey, let's sink 20,000 into this tank and make it a shiny, slighty less slow tank. ***y trucks... I don't get it. Stephen
