Damn it!.. I said no.. The file is owned and copyrighted by Image Space Incorporated and Electronic Arts. The patch I made uses a modified retail exe and therefor can not be copied onto mobile media. Please comply with this or I will be forced to pull the whole pack from the site and will not do anymore :( - James "Gunslinger" Wohlever Techware Motorsports http://techware.gtinsider.com Send ATTACHMENTS (Files) to:
Number 1, I do not have any advertisers on my site, nor do I wish for any. The only banner I have on my site is the GA Sports and this a requirement for the server space. Seeing how I only have a 56k modem myself, and I uploaded both the 125 meg files AND the 50 meg car only files, I don't understand what the deal is. before you go to bed that night, set the download, go to sleep, next day its done. THAT is exactly what WOULD happen if I took away the copyright. Some jerk out there WOULD try to profit from it. I do not want any profit for it. Too many people already trying to make money in everything I enjoy. This was meant to be free, and the only I can assure it stays that way is to keep the copyright strict. I did.. Its called Service Pack 3.0 :) - James "Gunslinger" Wohlever Techware Motorsports http://techware.gtinsider.com Send ATTACHMENTS (Files) to:

But if you do have such permission, then you have every right to keep up your stance. Stephen

Which would be fine were it not for the fact that many us don't live in the US and have to pay for calls to our ISPs. A quick bit of mental arithmetic suggests that at a download rate of 3000 CPS it would take slightly under 12 hours to download 125 megabytes of data, resulting in The Radio-Active Killer Phone Bill From Hell and large Christmas bonuses all round at British Telecom. If you have copyrighted material in the package then you/we have to live with the distribution limitations which the copyright holder imposes , and anyway, at the end of the day it's _entirely_ up to you what ditribution conditions you impose on your own work, but I'm not at all surprised that people want to find some way of getting hold of this stuff without the monster download... -- JG -- JG

I do see that you have said NO. It appears after I had replied to Roderick. I am truely sorry for that. If it is your wish not to allow this, then so be it.

I'm afraid I can't understand all this.... what telephone rates are people paying?? I live in England and now do not pay anything for my offpeak internet access (no monthly charges, no telephone charges, nothing), but even when I was paying British Telecom for local call access if it had taken 12 hours to download the SP3.0 files it would only have cost around about 5-50-6-50. Hardly a fortune considering what it is for.... Are the charges other people are paying more than that? Screaming.net is only available if you live in an area covered by the cable company that provides it. And most of us don't. Suffice to say my phone bill is pretty ridiculous. mm > I'm afraid I can't understand all this.... what telephone rates are people > paying?? Screaming Net is available to anyone who is currently on a BT LINE. The sam line is used ut's just that you're billed by Localtel (Screaming Nets parent company). I've never had any trouble with this service and they're upgrading all the time. It's now as good a service as anyone else, ***, Free-Online, BT click etc. I know I've used them all. Sorry this is off topic, but I had to out the guy straight. By the way, I got SCGT from GAME in Sheffield for 7.99 this week. Bargian or what! Hardly a fortune considering what it is for.... : Are the charges other people are paying more than that? And here in Switzerland the off-peak cost is only about 0.70 SFr per hour, which is about 30 pence, or .50 USD per hour. So, the cost to download would be less than the CD and postage. I think we should finally put this argument about Internet access costs to rest, especially when people whine about the additional cost to download an unwanted USENET message. Maybe if you live in the Shetland Islands and have a radio phone linkup then you have a case, but if my Internet access in the middle of the Swiss Alps is so cheap, then I think the other people who whine about costs just haven't done some basic research into the options for an ISP. I've looked into Deutsch Telekom rates and several British ISPs, and there are plently of cheap roads onto the Internet now. Stephen
I use the Cable & Wireless Connect35 tarif. I'm not sure whether you actually need to be with Cable & Wireless, but for 15 a month a get 35 hours of evening and weekend calls for free. Once these 35 hours are up I get discount on any other time I use. Still waiting for my first bill since changing to this tarif, but I'm expecting to save considerably more than the 15 fee. Still waiting for digital cable though so I can get a Cable modem. Regards Andrew

Should have known better than to trust the Daily Mail... mm
Couldn't agree more there Hal.. ther have been a lot of complaints about the service but I can't really fault them. Been with them since June and have saved over 500 as a result.... Peter Hooper
