Hi...
Does anybody know whether computerized driving simulations (or other
computerized training assistance) are used by pro racecar drivers?
I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Pat Johnson
I think Jos Verstappen plays Destruction Derby a lot (according to his
driving style).

Believe it or not, 1999 CART champion Juan Montoya is a video game and
racing sim fanatic, and he "learned" many of the CART tracks by running
Microsoft CART Precision Racing.

Patrick Carpentier had fun learning back in his rookie years the CART road
tracks using Papyrus's IndyCar Racing 2.
Jacques Villeneuve learned Formula 1 tracks using Grand Prix 2.
Many NASCAR drivers use the Papyrus series to learn the track on the
circuit. Many even raced online on the NROS, and now with Nascar Racing 3.

"People think it must be fun to be a super genius, but they don't realise
how hard it is to put up with all the idiots in the world."
I second this. I talked to and raced with Dale Jr. and Buckshot Jones on
NROS.

It's called Eddie's Hockenheim birthday present. It's definately a modern F1
arcade game because you have to play the role of a sporting driver <G>
MS
Pedro De La Rosa used some CONSOLE games to learn the F1 tracks before his
99 debut ...
he said the braking points, cornering speeds, etc were completely wrong, but
the games are usefull to learn the track ...
is like learning Phoenix in F1GP and then having to race it in GP2 ... you
have not references, but you know how is the next bend :)

advantance team like ferrari and mclaren have their own programs that they use, they don't
release that into the public, is all private use. Those are probably real fun to play around
