Having won the GPL World Championship at Novice level at my third attempt, I
had a couple of weeks off and tried some demos of other sims/games: Midtown
Madness, Driver, Nascar Revolution, Sega Rally 2. I was also going to try
SoS until I read the r.a.s. reaction...
Anyway, tonight I decided to take the Ferrari for a quick lap of the
Nordschleife. Well "quick" was definitely the wrong word. I must have spun
off at every single corner between the pits and the Karousel - plus a few on
the straighter bits. I managed a few corners in a row and then went back to
the spinning way - and at the end I ended up in the bottom of the ditch at
the Tiergarten chicane. Crossed the line and pressed F2 to see the time on
the clock: I had gone round in 10 minutes and 53 seconds...(My best timed
lap is 8:30). Just goes to show, what an adverse effect these other driving
games have on the driving style.

I had not raced GPL in roughly one month due to other commitments in my
schedule, especially the C***Championship series for ICR2. I gotta try to
defend my title! Anyhow, I took the car out for a few laps at Watkins Glen.
For about three laps, I had trouble controlling the car, but then I got that
feel back and was running quick laps, setting a personal best of 1:04.88
