The middle screenshot is obviously from GP2, but wow.

"People think it must be fun to be a super genius, but they don't realise
how hard it is to put up with all the idiots in the world."
Reactions to new Grand Prix 3 screenshots
New Grand Prix 3 screenshots from Monaco drew praise for the graphics and concern that the physics would be little changed from GP2. Posters noted the on-screen steering wheel turning while the front wheels stayed straight and debated whether the game would cover the 1998 season.
Automated summary.
Looks like it could have great graphics, but what PC system will it need to run smooth with all cars. When GP2 came out, I had a
fast PC for the time and the game ran a bit slow with all graphics and car. If the driving physics of GP3 are at least as good as
GP2, then I will play it even if I can only run a few cars with these graphics.
Cant wait!

This release is going to be a long wait. :-(

I don't get it.
It may look pretty, but surely if the physics engine is virtually the same
as GP2, then whats the point. It will be effectively GP2.5 or GP2+
Surely the real reason to buy this sim is if the physics are more realistic
than its predecessor.
Since GPL came out, nothing has got close. GP3 must be at the same level.
Shame that won't happen because 'arcade' drivers will moan its too hard.
GP3 will also sell even if the physics aren't that different, just because
of the name.
Ohh well, my opinion :)

If Papy does a modern F1 sim with the GPL
engine and the car feels like a modern car with downforce and stiff suspension (actually I would really like it with early 80's cars
that had big tires and no ground effects), then I might like it better than GP3. I just want something with modern graphics and
better physics than the Ubisuck games.

wheels pointing straight ahead worse than the old missing front
wheels. Do it right, Crammond!
Jeff (no drool here)
I cant wait either, the graphics look great!
I guess there is no chance of the malaysia track being on there too is
there?
i saw a screen shot showing an Arrows car all in black DANKA livery
does that mean we wont have Bar on the original team lineup?
Will the game be for the 98 season or the 99 season?
i have a P3 500 with voodoo3 3000 do you think that will be enough
horsepower? LOL:-)
Why is it that, no matter which direction the steering wheel is pointing,
the front tires always look like they are pointing straight?
Solution! Take that damn worthless steering wheel out, you already have one in
your hands. How many are necessary? Make the tires turn and shitcan the
steering wheel. Paul

I thought that maybe it was a wide angle view that made the wheels look toed in so that when the car is turning, the inside wheel
looks straight ahead.
Also I never really thought of how difficult it must be reading a dash on the wheel that tilts.

Oh no, GPL complaint deja-vu....!
Cheers!
John
No, not complaining, my favorite sims, GPL&VR, both have steering wheels. My
point was, who many do you need? When I drive a real car I have one in my hands
and that appears to be enough, I sure don't need anoither superimposed on the
dash. Paul

ROTFL. Missed that one before...hehe. :)

They should make it an option (GPL), but they would have to put the information
on the wheel somewhere else. They better not put it at the top of the screen,
hovering over the sky. That would make it an arcade, for sure... ;^)

Especially ironic since Monaco was the most undrivable track in GP2 due
to the FPS demands of all that scenery.
It wasn't until very late in the life of GP2 where I actually had the CPU
horsepower to drive Monaco without dealing with 100% processor occupancy
or having to drive it with graphics that looked like F1GP1.
Lets hope GP3 works better on the average PC Platform when released than it's
predecessor did.
I want to be able to drive Monaco right from day 1 :-)

Personally I like the wheel onscreen as in GPL, when it wiggles it helps
me to see that the front tires are at the limit of adhesion, when it's
turned and my wheel is straight up, it tells me that I've damaged my front
suspension/steering.
If anything make the visible wheel a toggle in the prefs.

Well, I am sure I am in the minority, but I drive GPL with a joystick. I
can afford neither the desk space nor cost of a wheel at the moment. I
love the arms. And you can toggle them off, so who cares?

recently.

Whats your source? Give us one or stop putting everything down 'cause its
not GPL.
I think its really to show that if Monaco looks good in a game then the rest
of the tracks should be good. Since so much (close up)detail has to go into
Monaco, I'd say thats the reason.
