GP500: Controller

Could someone please save me a lot of frustration and advise me on a good controller for GP500? I am trying to use a Sidewinder Precision Pro (USB) joystick, but are finding it hard using it for acceleration/braking and left/right. The game only seems to recognize Joystick port 1, so I are unable to use my MS Sidewinder pedals for go/stop with my joystick for left/right. Being unable to lessen the range of motion of the wheel is very frustrating for racing a bike. I also have a Freestyle Pro gamepad, but find that VERY sensitive. Any advice much appreciated. A profile for my controllers would be great! :) Respond by E-mail if possible please as I am very frustrated and finding it hard to find the time to read through my newsgroups. TIA. -- Rob.
