I would like to buy N3, but wondered if my computer has enough horsepower to run it well. I have a P233 mmx with 40 mb ram and a Voodoo 2 card. Any advice would be appreciated. KP

It will run it, but not well. You will definately have to turn down quite a few settings. You really should have more processor and more ram.

That's what I figured, but thought I'd ask. The game companies always show such under-estimated system requirements so they can sell more. Thanks for the help! KP

You didn't say what resolution you're using, what view you're using, if you have forcefeedback enabled or disabled. Be a little more specific...

I find it hard to believe it runs smooth. Please use Alt-F and tell us what framerates you're getting with a 43 car field. How many cars do you have set for "Drawn ahead"

ram..........At 800x600 it runs smooth during practice, but during the race with all the cars running, it seems to run around the mid 20's on the frame-rate. Do you think I need to upgrade the cpu or the video card to have better frame rate during the race. I also have a SB Live card and all the video and sound are WFO. Any help is appreciated. To reply please remove "godalejr" from my email address. Joey

I get 9(10) on pit lane, 23(25) on the track (practice) with 12 drawn ahead, 4 behind. <shrug> Must be the fact fewer cars were actually on the track during practice. Smooth is relative. I hear complaining about 30 fps being crappy.

I did another test in an actual race. After starting on pole, I got 20(?) and get 11(13) from back of field. 12 drawn ahead.
