I've got my copy of N3, and after the first moments of enjoyment, i've realized that it's the same old N2 stuff. I currently play also with GPL, and cannot compare them at all! GPL is far superior to this arcade game! What a shame having not the same physics in N3! I'm thinking now to resell this garbage to ather people... Bob

Geez Stefano, it has only been mentioned in, ohhh, I don't know, at least 300 posts that Nascar 3 would not be based on the GPL engine. With all but the highest end of today's computers, the N3 running with GPL physics with a field of 43 cars would be just about unplayable. Kinny

You know, this is getting a little ridiculous. You should already know that the GPL physics are not included in the package, and to make comparisons on a serious level is absurd. They're two totally different games, and they're just that - GAMES. Get over it. What were you expecting in N3, anyway? I think it's a fine addition and very worthy. Your opinion is noticed but not appreciated... =-Rigs-= '...whatever answer, however illogical, must be the truth...'

My question is this.... why would you want a NASCAR to handle like a '47 Ferrari? Do they in real life? It's a different game, so I wish people would just stop ***ing about it. -- Tony Wyss, Editor-in-Chief Gamers Alliance Sports www.ga-sports.com ------------------------------- Network Developer Gamers Alliance, Inc. www.gagames.com ------------------------------- "I'm not an athlete, I'm a baseball player" - John Kruk > I've got my copy of N3, and after the first moments of enjoyment, i've > realized that it's the same old N2 stuff. > I currently play also with GPL, and cannot compare them at all! Homer, in Italy, is looking to buy the game. Maybe you can strike a deal with him. Subject of his post is "Want to buy N3" and was posted 09/28/1999 at 4:42AM. Mike

Tony, I love N3!! That (mine) was a provocation just to stimulate someone to express his feelings about the lack of GPL physics, now that the sim has come out (we still know the previous reactions, some months ago when that was announced). (I thought that choosing a subject like "what do you think about N3?" and the like, nobody had answered to my specific question) Actually I've not seen such kind of opinions in the past few days (maybe I've not noticed them...). However I think that (now that I have N3 in my hands) I don't miss GPL physics at all! Even if I was a little bit hesitant before buying it, now I believe that it's a completely different sim, and, "to call a spade a spade" I'm convinced that the GPL physics in N3 would have been undoubtedly out of place! People do need to stop ***ing about not having the GPL physics engine in N3, yes. BUT having the GPL Physics Engine in N3 would NOT make the cars handle like GPL cars! That's the common misconception! The physics engine is merely the six degrees of freedom. ICR1, ICR2, N1, N2, N99, and N3 all use basically the same exact game engine, but they don't all handle the same. You see? If N3 had been done with the GPL physics engine, Papyrus would have modeled the cars to be realistic in size, weight, downforce, etc., thus making it handle not like a GP car, but like a stock car. Tony Wyss schrieb: I thought, this argument was already dead? While the complaining about N3 not having the GPL engine is really useless now, using the GPL engine wouldn't mean that Nascars would drive like '67 F1 cars, they would just behave and feel MUCH CLOSER to the real cars. hmmm... l8er ronny -- The box said "Windows 95 or better", so I installed LINUX! |\ _,,,---,,_ I want to die like my Grandfather, ZZZzz /,`.-'`' -. ;-;;,_ in his sleep. |,4- ) )-,_. ,\ ( `'-' Not like the people in his car, '---''(_/--' `-'\_) screaming their heads off!

I wish everyone would stop this "GPL is better than N3", "why didn't N3 come with GPL physics?" BS, it's getting real old and your starting to make me hate GPL. ;-)

But GPL _is_ better! (I've never tried N3... ;-) still another ;-) Arto

That does make the 'arcade'-statement a bit moot. -- Ari Nieminen Remove .NOSPAM from my e-mail address when replying.
