Hello, I have a ADSL connection /256kbs down/128kbs up) i got a router and
tried to play both computer in the internet with other players, i get lag
sometimes like freezing for a few seconds, this mainly happens when i use
both computers, when one computer is completly off things improve, it is my
router (SMC 7004VBR) or my connection speed?? I will appreciate any help,
router is well configured, i can play lan with no problems, the only problem
is that connection seems not well balanced when both computers are on.
Thanks for help

Try using tracert (trace route) at the command prompt to see where the
problem is.
I guess you may be getting lots of collisions locally, maybe because of a
bad network cable or a power brick right next to the cable or something.
Network cables are ime pretty sensitive to outside interference.
Malc.
IMO, try it w/o the router and you'll know if its your conn or the router.
If it still does it.. could be your network card or a cable as mentioned
before.
Was it ever decent? Ive had cable modems go bad. different symptoms
everytime.

computer has a built-in ethernet card, realtek brand, can be that?
