There are 3 other pics besides those in the same area, which 2 of them look
to be very early versions of the menu system. I think these look a
hell-of-a-lot better than the one in it now. The one in gpl now is still
very good, yet I think this early one has a better visual look to it.

It looks like The ICR2 Rendition version of GPL!!!!
somebody please explain!!
As you can see, this screenshot was in a very early development of Grand
Prix Legends. Look at the textures missing all around the car, the early
car model and the squared mirrors. I do not know if you remember, but one
of the early screenshot in a magazine showed two GPL cars heading what we
thought was the Laguna Seca Corkscrew. I speculate that the game engine has
to be tested way before a track is actually made, so Papyrus used Icr2
tracks for that.
Note that while in development the Shifter was actually a 3d-model from what
we can see, not a 2dbitmap like in the final version. To everybody his
personal preference, I like the 2d one :)
Any better logical answers ?

Well why the hell won't they give us the ICR2 tracks for GPL if they did it for
early testing? :)

I totally agree with you man. Are those menu GUs in the non US version of GPL?

GPL?
Those screenshot menus were done while Grand Prix Legends was in
development. Somewhere during the production they went to the final GPL
menu GUi and Interface. There is as you can see many options like weather
and team skills that were not implement in the final build of the game.
