Hi all
I am hoping someone here can help me. A couple of days ago,
I took my racing set over to a friend's house to do some
head to head racing in GPL. He has two system hooked up to
a LAN. The racing went fine (until his LAN card in one
system overheated and would lock up the system 8^) but we
had one problem.
We couldn't change cars. We were racing on the Mexico track
and though we selected our cars in the screen prior to going
to multiplayer, no matter which car we selected, we both
ended up with the Coventry motors car. Now, I like that
car, but my friend likes the Murasama. Yet, every race,
whether he hosted on his system or I hosted on the one I was
using, his car was the Coventry entry.
After this happening a couple of times, I scanned the book
while he looked through the program, but neither of us found
anything to change cars.
How are the cars changed in multiplayer? Any help would be
appreciated.

I know that GSB1.99 and VROC2 have a "Force everyone to use the same
car" option. If you were hosting without VROC or GSB there could be an
offending option in your INI files. You could try moving your GPL INI
files to a different folder and try hosting. If that works try to look
in the INI files for a command that forces the same car. Make sure his
shortcut to GPL only has GPL.EXE as the program name. You can pass INI
information through the command line options now.
To choose cars in Multiplayer you just select your car from the main
menu before choosing Multiplayer.
