3DFX Interactive [link lost in import] referance drivers available for the Voodoo Banshee boards although they recommend using the drivers from the individual manufacturers. I only loaded my Banshee last night and used the latest drivers from Creative. So far so good, and a huge improvement over the V2/Intel 740 combination I removed. don [|]-(_)-[|]

Does anyone know which banshee drivers are the best for GPL? Ive tried the quake II compatible ones , but they have a prob which shows when changing between menu and car, where I get a green flash. Ive also tried the latest drivers from 3DFX and the Creative ones, all which work ok, but are there others and if so which are the best? (give best FPS, color etc?) I have a Creative 3D Blaster Banshee with 16mbSDRam, running at 115Mhz, oh which reminds me, i cant get the card to run at more than 120Mhz, when i set to 125 and reboot, it sets itself straight back to 100Mhz.Is there anyway to resolve this? Thats using the Creative drivers, the 3DFX ones dont have this option as far as Ive seen. All decent advice appreciated, thanks Ross
I remember from billsworkshop.com, wich used to be a banshee help site, that the CL banshee would not be oc 'able over 110-115, and all kinds of disasters happened to peolpe who tried, as melting cards, ruined hardrives and the like. So I never went above that, as i like to have other people do the experimenting and the crashing, and learn from their experiences ;-) Later I saw a rumour that the CL banshees were oc'able higher but as i never could verify this I never went above 110. The 3dfx drivers allow you to set something else faster too, but I do not know what it is. ANyway I am happy as it is with my 110, and GPL does not go faster than 36 fps anyway. Dolle Dolf
