Happened to catch last 30 minutes of Grand Prix from 1966...
the Monza track appeared to be elevated...which it isn't in GPL...
anybody know the story on this?
Dave O.
In the movie, they are running the old config with the banked oval- it's
there in GPL(you drive under it coming up the hill after the Lesmos), you
just don't drive on the raised portion.

Which part seems elevated? You mean the banking part that's not in
GPL?

The last F1 GP to be run on the full circuit (banked oval plus road circuit)
was during the 1.5-litre era, in 1961. The 3-litre cars never raced a GP on
the banking.
At this present time the banking, albeit in a rather decrepit state, still
exists but only through the tireless efforts of enthusiasts both in Italy
and world-wide. However, nothing is guaranteed and demolition could still
go ahead.
I hope this brief summary is helpful.

I thought about an easter-egg, so I tried to get up. Was not
successful. :-(
