I did it :D
I joined 3 races, one at silverstone, only practice cause I ve never raced
there, but wanted to see the warping, etc ... and then ... the serious
business :)
first a race at monza ... for heating up ...
and then
I joined a 14 lap race at the Glen (12 drivers or so?)... the practice went
well, until someone do a Shift-R in front of me ... :D (I went higher than a
Le Mans 24 Mercedes) anyway, I managed a 1:06.12 in my Eagle, my personal
best, then, with three mins remanining, I got a W95 lock :/ I thought I had
lost my practice time, but when I rejoined, I was still there! 4rd I think
... someone did a 1:06.11 ... :)
the race started, clean start ... but i pushed a ferrari driver out at the
end of the long straight (sorry) I spinned and started a nice race ... i
made quite a lot consecutive 1:06.xx and finished 4rd or 6th can't remember
...
it was great fun ... I will repeat tonight :)

Was that with M.Laskey? If so that particular one was my first Online
Gpl race. If it was the same M.Laskey who I knew in the early 90's on
compuserves games and subsequently sports sims forum, it makes up for
the hours we spent one saturday trying to get ICR talking to each other
over the phone without success. The monza race was a blast, I considered
2n'd to ML, a mere 1.01 seconds adrift was pretty good going. Someone
will probably now tell me I was causing havoc and would I mind never
connecting again!

I had a bash at rouen later but got disco'd running third on about lap
3.
My apologies to anyone if I was warping too much, I think I probably
was :-(...
