Oh yes. Sadly we seem to have had a shortage of snow in the SW UK in recent
times.
I recall when I used to belong to a motor club (20 years ago!) the
surrounding roads were announced as "closed" due to snowfall yet we managed
probably the biggest attendance :)
As for 12 car rallies in snow & ice in my Ascona - memories!
I don't know how we will cope if we get half an inch of snow in this part
of the world now. Joe public blaims the council if they go off in the wet
for failing to set the speed limit right...
Cheers
Tony

Hah, I've had several of those, the old RWD version that is, still own a
Manta, or rather a pile of bits that will eventually resurface as a
Manta at some point :-)

It was allegedly driven (in a former life of the car!) by Bjorn Waldegard.
He is Swedish you know - where all the best rally drivers come from <G>

Ouch, that's gotta hurt, financially, funny those old Opel CIH engines,
if you put them together just right using all the right bits they were
nearly indestructible, if not, they were....not :-)

It certainly hurt my left hand when I smashed it into the door going for the
handbrake as it was LHD and I was used to RHD :)
