Does anyone know what to tweak to overclock a Soyo YB6
motherboard? I've got all the bus speeds and clock
multipliers available in the BIOS, but when, for instance,
I change my stock PII-300 from 66 x 4.5 to 66 x 5.0
the board still recognizes it as a 300 during the
boot up sequence (when you get the xxx k ram and
processor speed at start up before the OS loads).
Is there a feature of this board (it's not the newer
YB6+) that won't allow overclocking? If so, why do
they offer so many bus speeds and clock multipliers?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Chris,
Have you asked this question at:
alt.comp.periphs.mainboard.soyo
Someone should be able to quickly help you there.
Thanks, didn't know the group existed

You might have a 'multiplier locked' 300...although I doubt many 300s were
shipped that way, try going back to 4.5 and try something like 4.5 x 75
(337)...or if the chip won't go that fast, make everything else run faster
if you can make it do 300 by 4 x 75 (all non-CPU items will run faster then)
