GPLdump help

I seem to be doing something wrong here. When I try to redirect the output to a file, no file is genereated. My command line looks like this: c:\sierra\gpl\replay\gpldump -fc -cs roucj206.rpy > test1.txt Any suggestions.

The command is ok, so it must be: a) glpdump is not in that directory b) you got the replay filename wrong c) the replay file is not in that direcory Do you get an error message? What happens exactly after you press enter after this command? Andre

I get the DOS screen showing many columns of numbers scrolling by and at the end it says finished gpldump. All files are in the correct directory and the replay filename is correct. This replay is of myself in practice so I see one column of data and the rest is zeros. I get no error messages.

Yep, that's the correct output. except it doesn't print to a file. Are you sure you put > test.txt at the end? Anyone else has an idea why is doesn't work? Andre

What kind of DOS are you using? MS-DOS/Win95-DOS/4DOS ? And are you running gpldump from the DOS prompt (not from an icon?). Try redirecting output from some other program to see if redirect works for you at all (can't see why it wouldn't)... try this: echo Hello > hello.txt This should create hello.txt with the word 'Hello' in it. -Juha --

Ok, I found it with some of your help. Thanks. I was using Start, Run with that command line. Everything worked except sending it to a test.txt file. When I used the MS-DOS Prompt shortcut it worked fine. Now to get some meaning and useful data into Excel. Thanks again.

Hi have a try without a blank in front of the output filename. Joachim
