Have you checked in the Windows device manager and made sure you can't disable the port?
If thats the case... I would suggest a soundcard like the SB Live or a SB 128 PCI.

The gameport of my PCI no name sound card cannot be disabled. It is not possible to run the PDPI card. I followed the instructions of the PDPI manual, put out the soundcard and re-installed it after the PDPI installation, hoping for the miracles of P&P. Also to disable the gameport in the device manager does not help.
Has sombody an idea what to do, or can give me a recommendation for a soundcard where the gameport can be disabled?
