This may have already been mentioned, but I was in GPL exile from RAS
until SCGT came out. :)
Car and Driver went to a test session where Bob Norwood were testing
some of the mod's done to Doom/Quake wizard John Carmacks Testarossa
and F50. The cars made crazy numbers on the dyno, but they didn't add
up to much in reality.
Carmack paid something like $650,000 for the F50 (he tried to get a
new one, and couldn't. Had to buy a used one when it came off lease),
and spent $50,000 in modifications to it, including twin
turbochargers.
Cool article, just because of the cars. Also shows you that a computer
game genius doesn't necessarily have much car-sense.
