Anyonelse installed the latest/newest V3 drivers from the 3dfx side yet ? I
did so yesterday and I am not to thrilled with it, the texture problems are
back, even if I limit the texture memory - anyone else tried it and figured
out what is wrong?
thx
WM
Thats why I run an 8 meg thriller, faster than 2 voodoo's. Should mention GPL is
all I run.

Wolfgang,
I'm sorry to hear this. These drivers were released for the almighty
Quake 3 Arena game so I guess everything else must suffer. I for one
am damn tired of the whole video card community revolving around Quake
and its derivatives. I sure wish Papy had as much influence as Carmack
and company..

Q3. FWIW, the voodoo2 tweaked drivers work fine. Default gamma's dropped for me,
but everything else is fine. It doesn't surprise me that the V3 drivers are still problematic,
it's still in the teething trouble zone even without this quick Q3 fix muddying the water.

Hmmm. Could have sworn that GPL is Glide only, and as such would only
be accelerated by a 3DFX card.

Out of the box GPL supports Glide (for 3dfx cards) and RRedline (for
Rendition). More recently there has been a beta OpenGL rasterizer
(mainly for the TNT though any fully hardware accelerated ICD should
work) available from www.papy.com

Amen, brother. :-)

Yeah, well.....FPS has been in the driver's seat as far as graphics goes.
Not necessarily in terms of gameplay, but they do have push that graphic
edge quite a bit. Sorry, but GPL just doesn't compare to Q3 in terms of
graphics... ;)
