Sometime ago, I read an article called VICTORY AT MONZA, and I could not
believe it. I thought the Ai were too fast and maybe the one who did
this "tweaked" the AI. I apologize for such a thought after my
experience this morning :
I only played a short race (got my daughter to take to school too ...)
and practiced for the usual 15 mns. This time, I decided to take a
different approach than my usual steel boot on the pedal.***lap, slow
with 1:40, second faster, 1:36 etc...until I finally reached 1:29:82 and
got the 3rd position on the grid. I did a wonderful start (hope I'll do
it again tonight !) and was first at Curva Grande then kept the lead for
almost 2 laps, basically until Hulme pushed me in the gravel at
Parabolica because I was too slow/cautious in this corner! But man does
it feel good ! It's like been in Training mode, except that the others
push you in the ***!
One thing I learnt, and yes it may not be very fair, but when you're in
the lead you can do anything, have a good start, go as fast as you can
BUT above all make sure you stick to the best/ideal driving line.
Chances are if you are pretty fast but not necessary the fastest, no one
will be able to pass you !

Moi, ?a toujour t Surtees et sa Honda qui mon fait manger la poussire de
Parabolica...
That damn Surtees always hits your gearbox going into Parabolica if you don't
pull off-line! That punk....

And I thought I was the only one Surtees rammed into. If I am anywhere near
him on track I am in mortal fear that he is going to clobber me in some
dumbass move.

It's not personal. It's just the way he is to everyone :-)
