Hi all!
If you are a GPL beginner and need not only some tips for faster
laptimes but also some encouraging words, then do like I did: send a
effort at a fast lap at Spa (or any track).
The GPL Doctor is Petteri Lehtisyrj? and more info can be found at the
Fast Lane ([link lost in import] in the news from 11 April.
Not only was Petteri's reply written in a very friendly and
encouraging tone, it was also chock full of the kind of info I needed
to get better lap times at the Spa. Every corner was analysed, and not
only the ones where I was totally off the racing line, too slow etc.
but also the ones where I <gasp> held a good line and speed. This
provided positive feedback as I realised that I'm not totally outta
whack ALL the time out there, it's just some corners that need work.
Now I just let myself "flow" through the ones that I feel I have
nailed and can concentrate on the troublesome ones. (Damned that Masta
kink!)
All in all, a very positive experience. It's not often you can get
feedback on your driving style from anyone, let alone someone who
"knows his shit".
Now, flood the good Doctor with replays! :-)
