I just looked at the date 9th of April, I thought it was familiar, In fact it was the date the GPL demo was released last year. So its been a year and I have to confess that there has only been a handfull of days that I haven't taken the Lotus out for a spin. I guess at this time of year we should also spare a thought for the men who really did drive these beasts at their limit. http://www2.eis.net.au/~bramwell/jim.htm Todd.
Well, since N3 is slated for about the same time of the year as GPL was, maybe we'll soon see a demo of that... I don't think one track for N3 will steal me away from GPL for too long though ;) Question: When N2 was in the works, did Papy release a demo? D.Cook

Might as well run with this. What track would you like to see in the demo when it comes out? Steve B. Remove "edy" from address for email

You said it rrevved!!! :-) That is THE only track worth a damn in NASCAR, IMHO (road courses and some others excepted). I am totally sick of these cookie-cutter, setup-is-all-that-matters tracks like Texas, Vegas, C***te and Atlanta. And don't even get me started on the restrictor-place tracks... all the TV types go ON and ON about how exiting and close it is... bullshit. Who honestly ever expects a slingshot pass to work on these tracks? Yeah, they're going 190, but no one can do a damn thing about passing anyone else. Bristol, Martinsville, Richmond are the places that make NASCAR come alive for me... Papy, bring on Bristol in the DEMO!!! :-) --Dave

NOW you're talkin'! Or maybe the 'Ring. Wonder how much air a Monte Carlo could get at Flugplatz? The mind reels. PLEASE let the file formats be close enough! Steve B. Remove "edy" from address for email

How about that oval one?

And give us a field larger than 10 cars to bash fenders with (remembering being miffed about the CTS version of the NR99 demo)!! Also, Bristol plus Sears Point would be ideal. - Ben www.hotyellow98.com/benfarneman "...well it weren't open wheel this mornin'..."

I don't think one track for N3 will steal me >away from GPL for too long though ;) Well, I think for me it would steal me away from GPL in the same way the alpha GPL demo stole me away from just about everything else. :D From the preview AVI we can see that around 8 AI cars, with all the graphics is up and running, presumably with a human driver in there somewhere. I believe the system running the preview in Daytona was a P450 with SLI V2's... That is quite hefty but 2 V2's cost less than the price of a single V1 only a year and a bit ago... I can't imagine if 42+ AI is going to run well on anything at the moment :( and that might be one of the biggest factors as to why N3 will not be out until later this year. From what I can picture, N3 only needs add an aerodynamic aspect to the physics model, the basic physics model being good enough for todays computer technology (IMO)... Yep, it was released first at one of those webzine type sites and was about a 8mb D/Load.... Once installed, it featured the ability to race any length, with around 8 AI cars, at Atlanta and Watkins Glen. Only problems were, the pits didn't work so you couldn't run a full length race, the tire temps were inaccurate (this was noted in the readme) and the sys.reqs were quite increased. I believe I was running a P66 at the time, and only the SVGA mode was available, which meant only car textures for me! I soon saw it on a P133 and it was very nice w/o track texture with the 8 AI..... Of course the spotter was the main improvement, and the modelling of WG.... -:http://simracing.com/ccg/
