The popularity of GPL Spy Boy may have brought VROC down momentarily last night (thanks to Alison for finding the problem and bringing us back our beloved VROC!). The following is the latest word from the creator of GPL Spy Boy: Wow it appears that the popularity of GSB caused a bit of a circuit overlord at VROC headquarters! This popularity is in danger of causing the VROC server to be shut down anytime the use level gets too high. A combination of things have caused this, and the VROC folks and I will be working to alleviate this problem as quickly as possible. It is very important that you do the following so that we may all continue to use GSB: 1. Open the Options dialog (Spy->Options... menu item) 2. Click on the "Misc" tab. 3. Clear the check mark next to "Auto refresh VROC" (i.e. turn off auto refresh). 4. Click OK to save the changes. What this will do is make GSB work more like the Netscape version of VROC, requiring you to manually click the Refresh button to update the race information pane. I apologize for this, and hopefully we will work out a solution in the very near future that will reenable the auto refresh feature. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS OR THE VROC SERVER WILL BE SHUT DOWN UNDER HEAVY LOAD PERIODS. YOUR COOPERATION WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! THANKS! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- **************************** Michael E.
