Folks,
Image Space has returned my compiled feedback form with answers to ALL the questions. I'll be posting the return on the News page at The Pits tomorrow, but in short, this is what they said...
The AI was done for the demo (much as I had surmised...alot of demos are like this) and the full version is harder. The telemetry for the replay and the saving setup won't be done by the time it goes final, but they agree with the ideas (so it may show up later as a patch). The auto-pit and 3d shapes won't be done either (before final), nor will the tire temp indicators.
However, they are more than happy to try to get the stuff done, and they point to the hacks out on the 'net for some of the other fixes for the sim. We will be posting (and adding) to the stuff very shortly, as well as working to get some 3rd party fixes in for some of the other things.
IMHO this shows IS's continued support to make this a good sim, especially as opposed to EA's 'let's claim it's a sim, then fold shop and run when they find out it isn't' approach to NASCAR Revulsion.
