My Logitech will open to about 2.75 inches, but you have to remove the tabs
that limit how far it opens first. It's simple to do, just grinding off a bit
of plastic on the clamping arms that serves no purpose anyway. By lengthening
the slots a bit where the clamping screws go through, you could get past 3"
with no problem.
