Sports Car GT demo review accused of being too positive

Jan Kohl of The Pits invited demo feedback to pass on to Image Space Incorporated for Sports Car GT, but a reader accused the site's glowing review of reading like advertising. Others noted the game had already gone gold, said the developers could read the newsgroup, and generally found the demo good but not great.

Folks, We've been in contact with Image Space for several months now, and they've requested for feedback on the demo...so get your comments in for the final version! You can find a link on our review to email us your feedback, we will make sure that the unedited version gets straight to the guys at Image Space. You can find our link to the review on our news page...(and the demo now as well). Your review sounds like it was written by Image Space. I know the game is not that bad But it is far from the awesome game of the year you describe. I wonder how much of your reviews are genuine or just advertising. I see the Pits website in a whole new light now. Hmmmm! I thought Image Space had already sent the Gold version to EA, with the proposed release date of early April I would think that to be true. Sounds like any fixes will be via post release patch. Given that why was the demo not released months ago to provide ISI time to implement feedback changes in the final version? Dino

Just have them read the newsgroup (they don't have to respond) and I'm sure they'd get plenty of feedback from everything thats been said so far on it.
I just read that review again, I still can't believe he is talking about the same demo. I feel insulted I thought we could only expect the BS hype from the game companies, now some reviewers are trying to waste my money. before I catch another flame. When I read a review I expect an honest opinion about the game stating its good points and pointing out its bad.So I can make a decision before buying it. Luckily I tried the demo myself in this case, but I feel sorry for those that read the review and then go out and buy the game. I don't think that demo was bad , but it clearly could never live up to the praise Jan gave it at the pits website. Makes me mad cause I think of all the BS E.A. advertised. I want to trust the reviews so I don't waste money Like I did on Nascar Revolution. -- Kevin Anderson ICQ # 6769389 >Thats not a post, thats *** website writing a review. thats sounds like >pure BS written by the game company. >-- >Kevin Anderson >ICQ # 6769389 >>Wow its funny when someone posts their opinion about a game that they are >>told that "Corporate advertising has corrupted another." I wasn't screaming at anyone. It's just obvious *from the demo perspective anyway* that a few changes could have been made that would transform a good sim into a great sim *before going gold*. SCGT has some great potential and I'm looking forward to the day my copy shows up on the doorstep. Dino

Kevin, I understand your point, but I *LIKED* the *DEMO*. You cannot expect everyone to see everything the same, and I did mention some of the bad points it has. If I waited to see what everyone else thought of it, then wrote my review, what WAS the point of writing it? As far as potential goes, I agree 100%. But this thing will need a good patch before I consider buying it. Oh, I'm hoping it will improve. As of now I "finished" the sim after about an hour, meaning "loosing interest", as the driving is almost no challenge compared to MGPR or GPL.
