It looks like when this bug > is resolved it will allow for dual pedal axis. Some hacker needs to figure out how to manually edit the file that records controller configuration (like control.cfg in Papy sims). Then we could probably assign the controls directly. -- Pat Dotson IMPACT Motorsports http://www.impactmotorsports.com/pd.html

You mean to tell me that the readme.txt has some useful info that we should read first? :-)

I read "USE JOYSTICK NUMBER ONE ONLY", as meaning the first position in the Win9X control applet. Joystick positions on the game port are usually referred to as A or B. If they mean "USE JOYSTICK A ONLY", then that's a real problem. Hope it is fixed in retail version. -- Pat Dotson IMPACT Motorsports http://www.impactmotorsports.com/pd.html
>> >My reading of the readme.txt says "USE JOYSTICK NUMBER ONE ONLY". >I read "USE JOYSTICK NUMBER ONE ONLY", as meaning the first position >in the Win9X control applet. That's how I read it too. Well, after trying a number of choices of hardware in the "game controllers" applet, I found one which actually let me configure my CH Pro Pedal + CH F16 CS, ie gave me the option to set my controller after setting the keyboard. Sorry, I don't recall which. Perhaps as a CH Virtual Pilot Pro? Still, it only recognizes the "-" position. That is, it lets me use the throttle, but doesn't see the brake. So, I set up the controller to give me analog throttle, and push button brake. Sorry, I can't recall exactly how I did it, but if you play around with the hardware choices... If the game doesn't let me set up the two-axis control of my CH Pedals, I won't purchase it.

Here is what I noticed about the control options: The available axes are labelled X,Y, and Z (with + and - directions for each). These correspond to JoyA X-axis, JoyA Y-axis, and JoyB X-axis. JoyB Y-axis doesn't seem to be supported in the demo. Only the first three axes are available. I sure hope that is corrected in the final version. Many people commented that when they try to assign controls, immediately after hitting a keyboard control, the joystick control is assigned to Z-. Try holding your third axis control halfway depressed, and you'll notice that it will wait on you to enter a control input. Here's why: SCGT demo only seems to support joystick settings that center in the middle (like steering or single-axis pedals). It doesn't seem to support a dual axis setup where the pedal is calibrated starting at one end of the range. My pedals are set up on the JoyB X and Y axes. When assigning a control, if I hold my gas pedal halfway down, it doesn't immediately assign Z- anymore. At the point where it's asking for a joystick input, if I lift off the pedal, it assign Z-, and if I push the pedal all the way, it assigns Z+. The whole thing is bizarre and needs to be re-thought. -- Pat Dotson IMPACT Motorsports http://www.impactmotorsports.com/pd.html > Well, after trying a number of choices of hardware in the "game controllers" > applet, I found one which actually let me configure my CH Pro Pedal + CH F16 > CS, ie gave me the option to set my controller after setting the keyboard. > Sorry, I don't recall which.
