Karl-Heinz Thiel wrote Btw speaking of Mexico City... I was watching "Nine days in Summer" and stopped on a sequence at Mexico City. Those "cement tyres" as we name them were in fact not filled, just normal tyres painted in white ! I do not know if this is an error by the GPL team or a limitation of the engine (Im not sure if flexible polygons are possible). At least they are not that hard and you don't get suspension damage in GPL when you pass on them. The sequence that cought my eye is when a Cooper is shown in the "Esses" part of the circuit. You can clearly see a wheel passing over one of those tyres, squishing it and it reforms back to the normal after. -= Fran?ois Mnard <ymenard/Nas-Frank> -= NROS Nascar sanctioned Guide http://www.nros.com/ -= SimRacing Online http://www.simracing.com/ -= Official mentally retarded guy of r.a.s. -= May the Downforce be with you... I hate to ask but, why havnt you just gotten the game? not trying to insult you or anything but if your looking for all these demos with the tracks, go ahaid and just get the game. >You don't get suspension damage from the tires at Mexico?????? What damage >level are you using? I sure destroy my steering and suspension if I clobber >them... Depends on how you hit them. I always run with the most realistic damage level, but what I mean is that in real life they would deform under contact. As I said depends on the angle and how many you hit. Just one on the side of the wheel doesn't make much damage (no difference between this and going airborne). But get the domino effect and hit them all, heh that's another thing ;) -= Fran?ois Mnard <ymenard/Nas-Frank> -= NROS Nascar sanctioned Guide http://www.nros.com/ -= SimRacing Online http://www.simracing.com/ -= Official mentally retarded guy of r.a.s. -= May the Downforce be with you... Is there a difference between the Win 98 Watkins Glen GPL demo and the new Mexo City demo BESIDES just the different track?

Hey! If that's true... Papy should fix that in Patch 1.1!!! I can certainly see it slowing you down (if they deform and pop up) but not to rip the wheels from the car. Those damn things are what have kept me (so far) from making concerted efforts at going quick there... too frustrating! :-( -_Dave

I agree. With.... "Racer X Veteran Sim Racer Victory Lane" in their signature and doesn't already own a copy of GPL....? Marty

You can check out some screen shots from my Weekly PRC spec race. Goto my setup page http://members.home.net/gpl.mondsj/gpl and follow the PRC Weekly Spec Race Results page. Now choose the Official Standings link for each race. The tracks are awesome. Watkins Glen is a great example to show off the physics. You get long straights, S-turns, fast corners, slow corners and a wicked crown in the road to make camber setup a nightmare :-) Jason.

There are options in between owning none and owning every single one, you know. But if I could only keep one of my racing "game" it would surely be GPL. Racer X, man, do yourself a favor... /petern

That's only your opinion. Personally I'm not that into F1 or grand prix racing, but the physics in the game are awesome. I'd keep N2, simply because I'm a huge NASCAR fan. What's with the "game"? And I'm guessing the favor would be to buy GPL? Racer X Veteran Sim Racer Victory Lane- http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Speedway/1423/

"only your opinion"? ONLY my opinion? Well, thank _you_ Mister! :-) The "game" thing was in reference to an earlier poster speaking of racing games in general, while I'd like to think of GPL more as a racing simulator. But the "It's a game, No it's a simulator" debate has been rehashed before, let's not thread there again. Anyway, looking at your .sig, I thought something like "Veteran Sim Racer == Grand Prix Legends" and was kinda surprised you didn't already owned a copy. Please please PLEASE go get it. And Viper Racing too. Knock yourself out!!! :-) /peter
