2 Voodoo 2's ?

Hi all, I remember seeing in this newsgroup that it is possible to run 2 Voodoo2's of differing makes. Can someone tell me how to do this? Right now I have 1 Monster 3D2 I would like to get another Voodoo 2 card (they are getting real cheap now), I just want to know if I can get another brand and how to do it. BTW I play GPL almost exclusively. Will get N3 when it comes out. Or maybe I should just get a Rendition card to replace my Diamnod Fire GL Pro 1000 My system: P2 400 Diamond Monster 3dfx 2 SB Live Value 128 Mb RAM Diamond Fire GL Pro 1000 8 Mb Thanks, "ZZ" ps: I just won my first IGPS Race! You buy a second Monster 3D II, put it in your computer, attach sli connector to both cards. Make sure you hook the monitor cable, and the video jumper cable to the same Monster, load drivers. Thats all. The only advantage, is they will allow you to go to 1024x768.

ZZ... With a high end system like yours you might want to consider a Banshee instead of the Rendition. I've tried both in my PII-450 and found that the Banshee substantially outperformed the Thriller 8MB AGP card. I posted my testing results here earlier. If you can't find them, I'll be happy to send you a copy. The Banshee's performance is on a par with the Voodoo2, except in those games which use the Voodoo2 second texturing unit, it offers outstanding 2D performance, and provides 3D acceleration in 1024 x 768 (and higher) without the need to buy another board and consume another PCI slot. A couple of quotes from the 3Dfx Interactive, Inc. web site: ------------------ So is Voodoo Banshee faster or is Voodoo2? Voodoo Banshee runs with 128-bit interface to 100MHz SGRAM, Voodoo2 runs with dedicated 64-bit buses to 90MHz EDO. Because of the faster memory, Voodoo Banshee will be able to sustain a higher fill rate when applying a single texture. What this means is Voodoo Banshee will be able to run single texturing applications at a slightly faster rate than Voodoo2, but any multi texturing games such as Quake2 will benefit greatly from Voodoo2's second texture processor. Will Voodoo Banshee work with a Voodoo2? Voodoo Banshee will work with a Voodoo2, but not in SLI mode. Voodoo Banshee will be the primary device and Voodoo2 will be the secondary device for the serious 3D *** experience. For the ultimate setup, a system can support a Voodoo Banshee as the primary graphic device and two Voodoo2 boards connected in SLI mode. This way the user will have the fastest 2D acceleration coupled with renown Voodoo2 3D capabilities. ------------------ But perhaps the best solution, if you have the patience, wait 30 days and get a 2D/3D Voodoo3 for your AGP slot...They're are supposed to go on sale April 1. P.S. Nice win last night at the IGPS series Zandvoort race!
