No word on a date yet though. -- All the best, Edwin Solheim **remove spamguard in address to reply** Drop by "The Paddock - a legendary site....." for some cool GPL stuff! http://home.c2i.net/thepaddock >it's been a rumor, of and on for months, no official or even leaked confirmation. >> Anyone heard anything about a V1.1 patch/release for GPL that is due out soon?

Maybe after the Nascar 3 release (autumn 99?)? (Remember this is the main project at Papyrus, and I guess this is where the moneybag is...). -Nope, I hope it's in between these happenings somewhere, and a.s.a.p... JoHS

A month or so ago, Randy Cassidy (his name is in the credits when you shutdown GPL) hinted that a patch was forthcoming, but he gave no timeframe. In three weeks, it will have been 5 months since GPL was released. I hope it's released soon, and I hope they fixed some of the stuff that kind of annoys me. For instance, I'd LOVE to be able to join a remote race through my linux gateway (right now, you can't), and it irritates the hell outa me to see car #0 (and many of them) in a race. And why isn't there a paintkit available so that we can paint the cars? And why haven't we heard Papy's intentions concerning new carsets and tracks? (Or could that be the reason the patch is being held up?) None of us will know what will be fixed/added until the patch is released... -- ========================================================= John Simmons - Redneck Techno-Biker (Zerex12) http://www.members.home.net/jms1/index.html John Simmons - Barbarian Diecast Collector http://members.home.net/jsimm/diecast_index.html IGPS Director http://www.paddedwall.org/igps/igps.html If you want to send me email, go to either of the URL's shown above & click "Send Me Mail" in the contents frame. =========================================================

I hazard to guess since Randy Cassidy (one of the GPL designers) has mentioned it more than once here in r.a.s. and that it has an official revision number (1.1), that the patch is done. However, as past practice, Sierra "QA" deems it necessary to wrap the patch up in one of their pretty (useless at times) installation packages and then sits on it for weeks while they test it on a machine or two....
