Yes there is an open gl driver specifically for the TNT card - you can get
it from http://gpl.gamestats.com/.
Also re modem play - are you aware of vroc? if not head to
http://www.nh.ultranet.com/~alison/gpl/ first to read all about online play.
Vroc uses the internet. For modem to modem - maybe you can send a post
asking if there are any GPL fans in your town.
I recently tried modem to modem the other day with someone in my town and we
were pleased with the lack of lag, and it worked first time - no mucking
round trying to get it to go.
In the core.ini that comes with the opengl patch,
be sure to set the mirrorsevery to 8.
