GPL-System question

4 posts by 4 people · 16 Feb 1999 - 17 Feb 1999

I have a KMD 300 Mhz System, 64MB RAM with a 3D accelerator yet to be installed. Is this system suitable for GPL with all details on, or would I have a lot of the good stuff off? Thanks for your help! Joerg

Thanks for your help! > Joerg I've got the same rig. I've got a v1000 rendition card and a Diamond Monster II (12megs). With no details except car texture in my mirrors, no fire, no dust I get just over 20 fps with a full field. I've got the detail down to 1/3rd, as well. It's definitely not fast enough. Sorry to say this but you may need more cpu power. Hope not. roy

I am running a system quite similar to yours with the exception of 128 megs of RAM. Monster II 12 meg video. You did not mention if your RAM was 100 mhz (helps tons) I have had nothing but GREAT results from my system. I do host often with up to 15 people online (thanx to cable modem) And never have a FPS issue. Good luck Michael J > I have a KMD 300 Mhz System, 64MB RAM with a 3D accelerator yet to be > installed. You'd probably ***it somewhat with all graphics and cars on, but you should be able to tweak it to your liking with a decent 3d accelerator. -- Don Burnette Palmetto Racing Dburn on Ten >I have a KMD 300 Mhz System, 64MB RAM with a 3D accelerator yet to be >installed.
