I've been running GPL in my overclocked 300A and abit BH6. It has been
running great for me. I have the SB Live card, and today picked up a couple
of extra speakers, to add for the rear. I changed the speaker setting in
audio hq to 4.
Now, when I run GPL, it constantly pauses or goes to the replay screen.
Almost every lap.
I removed the 2 rear speakers, changed it back in audio hq to 2, and GPL
runs great once again.
Is anyone running GPL with the SB Live and 4 speakers? Man, the sound was
awesome, much better than I have with 2, but I don't know what to do about
the problem.
Thanks for any help,

Runs great with the Creative (Cambridge) Soundworks four-point speakers.

Sorry to post a basically useless message, but after I bought a rear pair of
speakers, my SB Live worked fine in GPL (and GPL worked fine with SB Live).
This is in marked distinction to my experiences with GP2 . . . (see post
above under GP2).
Isn't there a setting in Environments (at the popup screen SB Live install
at the top of the desktop) that also has to be changed for four-speaker
support? At least make sure it isn't set to legacy 2-speaker.
best of luck,
DK

This one is strange.

I'm thinking about taking these 2 speakers back and getting the Soundworks
set later on. I have the Altec Lansing acs 490's w/ subwoofer on the front,
and the 2 I just picked up for the rear are the Aura Aspect 20's.
Does the Soundworks have real good sound, bass, etc?

I run mine through my surround sound stereo. They just put out a patch

No personal offense intended for sure but I must say after trying the cambridge
4-point surround system that the quality of the sound sucked! big time! The
subwoofer effect was kind of cool but wayyy overdone and the little speakers
sounded like... little speakers, ther was virtually no midrange sound at all! I
am using a set of yamaha speakers and the quality is great. I really was
hoping for much better from the cambridge system. Even though GPL does not
support surround sound I am looking forward to SCGT and a patch for GPL that
does. Let's keep this thread going, I want to know what works for most people.
