Not sure if anyone here can help me, but it is worth a shot.
System:
PII 233 64megs memory
Viper 330 4meg card (1.30 drivers released 1/28/99)
Pre-Problem History:
I installed the new V330 drivers and was able to get GPL to work (refer to
message posted earlier this week). Shortly there after, I relized the D3D
performance with the new drivers was greatly downgraded. Check a few places
on the web (rivazone.com) and confirmed the reduction in performance (I
guess they went with stability over performance). In short, I tried new
reference drivers. Which didn't help matters. Went to Standard VGA drivers
and then back to the Diamond 1.30 drivers.
Problem:
All was looking okay, until I tried to run GPL. 1fps! Hit 'alt F'....
1.2?? fps.... So, I shutdown only to get a Windows Write Protection error.
Restart the computer and try again... Still 1.2fps
Any ideas as to what is going on? If I go back to the previous diamond
drivers (1.28a) the Windows Write Protection Error goes away. But no....
GPL... I know! I know! Get a new card! Working on it! A new family car
had to come first....Anyone have a Hercules Thriller 8meg the want to part
with?
Thanks for the help,
Thad
I got my problems fixed.... I am happy again.
