GPL Physics Engine Output Question

Is there any way to poll the physics data that GPL generates? I'm curious to know if there would be any possibility of capturing that data and transferring it to some kind of system that could translate it into actual movement. Take for example the SMS (Silicon Motor Speedway) system. When you turn left the car banks left based on a set of motors underneath the actual***pit. If GPL is sampling the physics 288 times per second (is that number right?) I'm quite sure that there would be some awesome data that could really take a sim to the next level. Obviously we're talking major cash to build a ***pit like this, but like I said, I'm just curious. -- -/- Walk Walker Official HAL Backmarker

Actually, the car moves on a custom built hydraulic system. There is a hydraulic pump for each car/simulator (behind one of the side screens). I don't think that electric motors have the combination of force and quick response to do the job (except perhaps for some very expensive motors). The car banks right when you turn left (to simulate the side force from cornering). -- Doug Milliken Research Associates Inc.
Have a look here [link lost in import: /'s] low cost (at least compared to hydraulics I guess). I don't know if the specs are enough for a vehicle simulator. The roll angle is only 15 degrees. They also have a lot of other motion platforms. /Jesper
