Hi dear gpl-racers,
after having get some familiarity with Monza - well only 1:31.34 is my
best - I tried to drive in Monaco... (Yeah, I know, it really is a track
from the other end...). Even with the trainer (not the advanced one!),
and using only 2nd and 3rd gear, it seems to be nearly impossible to
stay in the track! Not to speak of fast driving and good lap times...
Did they feel this already in 60's? Was the track already then considered
"impossible"? I know that nowadays they see it as a very, very hard place.

Yes Monaco is very challenging, I used to hate it too, especially the
chicane after the tunnel where I would crash 2/3 of the time.
The key was to look at replays of myself going through there which helped
me to notice that I could actually make it through there almost in a
straight line by letting the left tire go up on the curb as I was going
through the chicane, the result is that with a bit of practice and
concentration you can actually come to terms with this track and even manage
sub 1:30 laptimes (this is in the Eagle). The key is not to worry about being
fast but smooth, the laptimes come down as a side benefit of the smoothness.
Like everything else in GPL, Monaco requires practice (and a bit more
concentration than most tracks since there is not much room for error).
Seeyas on the track.
