When running GPL after a few minutes the screen stops and locks up, but I can still hear the sound of the game as if were still working. I have two Monster 3D 2's in SLI on my new system with Stealth cooling fans on both cards. Other games run fine. I have the M3d 2 drivers version 203 and direct X6 installed. Here is my System: P2 350, 128MB Ram Windows 98 Matrox Millenium (2) Monster 3D2 in SLI Thanks, Lutrell :-)

The latest DirectX 6.0 drivers do cause some problems with GPL. Try backing up to the previous release drivers if you are using the latest ones from Diamond. -- **************************** Michael E. If your Voodoo Software has a properties box to change settings, try and set the speed well down, this solved the lockup for me without any noticeable reduction in performance. Also close ALL applets except systray and explorer by pressing CTRL/ALT/Delete and "ending" any other tasks. Then start GPL. Tried setting the M3d 2's to 90Mhz but still have the problem. Also downloaded the latest drivers but still locks and in the menus the mouse cursor leaves a flickering block of graphics when the screen appears. Tried turning off all background programs and still locks up. The DirectX 6 drivers are more than likely your culprit. You can get the older drivers at http://www.3dfx.com/docs/v2_drivers_oem/v2_drivers_oem.html If you still want to use the DirectX 6 drivers, go ahead and install the above, then copy the glide2x.dll & glide3x.dll file from the Windows\System directory into the main GPL directory. Also copy the glide2x.ovl from your Windows directory into the main GPL directory. Then go back and re-install the DirectX 6 drivers and you should have the best of both worlds. -- **************************** Michael E. Thanks for the help, It worked! With DirectX 6 still installed I was able to just unzip the rkv2.exe file (Reference run-time drivers for W95/98 & V2,release 2.1, v.1.03.01 from 3Dfx) to a temp file, copy the glide2x.dll,glide3x.dll, and glide2x.ovl file to the GPL directory and it worked. I did not have to install or reinstall DirectX. However I found that with M3d 2, the speed adjuster in the control panel must be kept at the slowest setting of 90Mhz or anything higher may cause the lock-ups again. And for some weird reason if you select a higher setting and then try to set it back to 90Mhz after running GPL, it jumps back up to the higher setting unless you restart W98 while its still set low. This could cause confusion for some M3d2 users that think they are at the lower setting but did not realize it jumped back up when they start the game. I read an earlier post that said Papy is aware of the problem, but have not seen a post with this solution at Sierra or any other sight. I dont see why Sierra or someone cant have just these glide files to download and place in GPL to fix the problem. Well thanks for the info, now to fix my steering pot that just went bad (lucky for me I have a spare). Lutrell :-) Also copy the
