I hoped I don't get flamed for the question. I have a copy of Sierra's
Nascar Racing for the Playstation. It's excellent. Has anyone heard if Papy
will do a port of Nascar 3 for the Playstaion.
Thanks,

I don't think that the playstation is powerful enough for the physics
model.

N3 will have significant improvements in the physics engine and
graphics over N1/N2. That takes CPU power (and a 3D video card). The
advances in computer hardware over the past 4 years make that
possible. I'm not up on game consoles, but I assume that the state of
the hardware is relatively static. Assuming that's true, they
couldn't double or triple screen resolution or make the physics engine
do 5-10 times the work it had done in the past. What could they add
to a Playstation version of N3 that isn't already in the N1 version
(aside from graphics updated for the latest season)?
"But in a way, fear is a big part of racing, because if there was
nothing to be frightened of, and no limit, any fool could get into
a motor car and racing would not exist as a sport." -- Jim Clark
The graphics wouldn't be as good but based on Gran Tourismo the physics could
be done.
