You race too much GPL when...
A humorous list of signs of GPL obsession, such as drifting through corners and looking for pit boards on the commute, prompted many readers to add their own jokes.

>You know, you race to much GPL when in your real life
You hop in your real car after driving GPL and you think you've gotten a
flat for sure because of the abnormally excessive body roll. I've stopped
twice to check!

Oh, hell yeah.
I have an automatic, but sometimes wonder "why it shifts so early."
I try...
Would be nice...
I did that, like, the sixth day I had the game.
That's a given, and the #1 on my list.

No, but I do turn off the radio and sometimes open the windows for that
"rush."
That would be hard, since I don't live in Germany.
Ha-ha! I remember doing something like that regarding the Nurburgring race
(when I still had the demo, and was thinking of the track that would be in
the game - I had no idea, did I?).
I don't do that (lack of accidents?), but sometimes I do look for the F2 key
(whoa, I wanna see that again!).

Great post :-)
One question though. Did you experience all this?

Some of my daily commuting roads would make great GPL tracks :)

improve/hide its lines.
...when you browse through a manual on the recommended settings for bump ***s

Thanks for the great post Michael! =)

You know you race too much GPL when.....
Sheesh, I haven't got time to write this, I've gotta try and get
under 1:30 a Monza!!!!

*Peter* #:-)
You sit in your real car at a traffic light, and are impressed that your hands
aren't shaking on the wheel.
You sit at the light, holding up traffic, because you're waiting for the guy
with the green flag...
You find yourself 'trail-braking' into your driveway.

ROFL!
I thought that all of the postings here were brilliant, but this message was

When at lights you pop the clutch in an effort to beat the guy next to you off
the line.
You replace the steering wheel and pedals in your Accord with 'aftermarket'
parts -- from ThrustMaster.

What's that got to do with GPL?
I thought that was just normal behaviour for any adolescent male with car
keys!
:)

Try Autocrossing... You left foot brake all the time. :-)
You raise your right arm as you pull into your driveway, smashing your
knuckles on the roof of the car.
You rev your engine to about 6000 r.p.m. at stoplights so you can beat
that Honda Accord off the line (or is that a Murasama Accord?).
You seriously consider going over the double yellow to get the correct
line through the downhill-uphill S-turn near your house (that looks
tantalizingly like Eau Rouge).

I know I've been playing GPL too much because the other night I had a
dream about Jim Clark coming back from the dead to race Graham Hill in
what looked like a combination of my old neighborhood in Torrance,
California (near the Riviera Village) and Monaco. They weren't racing
Lotus 49s. They were racing those little Peugeot's (I think) that look
like toy cars! After the race, I had a nice conversation with him while
sitting on a park bench. A very nice chap.

>You know, you race to much GPL when in your real life
you turn a corner and get on the gas, breaking the rear wheels loose.
Rather than back off as you always have to bring the rear end back in,
you keep the throttle planted and steer the car back in; no sweat,
just like you've done a thousand times in that '67 Ferrari ;)
Your wife is looking at you funny....
The road i live off of is a 3.2 mile loop where u would be hitting speeds like
at Spa. Theres even a 90 degree turn that I (not others too much GPL in my
system) take at 35 MPH.
