I had to get an 8 MB Thriller to replace my 4 MB Stealth 2 S220 to improve this problem, so it's probably a video card memory problem with the Stealth. I have same setup otherwise and can max out graphics at 800x600.

I have a P-II 350 with a Stealth II S220 and at 800x600, I can't get anything over 28 fps either. Time to get a Voodoo2!

I'd agree that its a video memory problem. 640x480 seems the practical limit (without a big fps drop) with 4 meg Rendition boards, 800x600 is the limit for 8meg boards (1024x768 creates a big slow- down). At the start 16 fps. During the race mid 20s to 36 faster than my 12mb voodoo II, 13 to 32. I don't think it is memory. Speedy

The graphics are much clearer with the 8MB Thriller compared to the Stealth 4MB. Too much texture distortion in the distance to see the upcoming curves for my taste. I get 26+FPS at start on all tracks starting in back (as usual) with P2 300a Celeron OC'ed to 374 with the 8MB Thriller, about 20 with the Stealth 220 4 MB. >At the start 16 fps.
