Viper Racing Sound

Help! When I first downloaded the demo for Viper Racing I was getting a terrible Stuttering/Knocking type sound that really ruined the sound effects of the demo. After I installed the "patch" to allow you to race more than two laps and/or reverse the demos track, the sound quality was MUCH better, with only the occasional knocking sound. I have now bought and installed the Full version and I again have that awful sound problem. I have tried using the 'debug.bin' file and the 'viper.bat' file (edited for the new directory, etc.) and can get the improvement in sound, but the game crashes when I leave a track. The log saying something about a file already exists, or something. Can anyone please help me get the better sound improvement. My guess is that the answer lies in the debug.bin file, but I am no programmer. I do good just to muddle around in Windows :)
